I completed my very first run/walk on Feb. 4th and I am so proud of myself. I got a nice little brace as proof of effort that Saturday morning. I walked all of it, except the very end, because I didn't think I was in shape to run the race. Halfway through it, I realized that I soooo could have run the entire 2 miles with no problems had I just let go of my fear. But I'm not sweating too much over it anymore because I'm already looking at upcoming races in the next few months.
I met a great woman who is willing to train with me and participate in the races with me. Also, she introduced me to a local health group on Facebook who post recipes, exercise pitfalls and milestones, etc on their fanpage. Great motivators! I'm looking forward to the next few months in running and hopefully I can get back into shape :-)
