The Miraculous Noodle

These Shirataki Noodles are only 20 calories a bag!! It's true!

So, add however much protein, fiber, vegetables, and goodness to them and you are in heaven with low calorie deliciousness! It takes ONE MINUTE to cook in the microwave after rinsing them and they are ready to go.

My brother, Chris introduced me to these noodles and to this meal so I'm sharing it with you. It's fantastic! I've had this meal quite a few times since he told me. I added a few items to my liking.

Shirataki Meal:

Ingredients:
Half a bag of Shirataki noodles
Tomato Sauce
Canned mushrooms
Diced onion
One turkey pattie
Italian Spice
Shake Cheese or real cheese like mozzarella or grated cheese

I rinse the noodles thorougly and place them in the microwave for a minute to cook. After that, I cook the turkey pattie, then add in the mushrooms and onions. Then, sprinkle in some italian spice and add tomato sauce. Next, dump the noodles in and let them get coated in the sauce. Then I grate or sprinkle or shake some cheese on top and it's all set!

Where can you find these noodles?

Chris told me he found them at Winn Dixie. I don't have one around where I live. I found them at Publix in the vegetarian section with the produce. But, they are also online which I might do from now on because they have SO many more choices of noodles than just the one style: http://www.miraclenoodle.com/?AffiliateID=10054
These noodles on this website are a little different than the ones you find the store, but still effective and even BETTER than the ones you find in the stores because some of them are actually ABSOLUTELY NOOOO CALORIES.

Tempt You With A Drink

What is there to drink instead of soda and water?

We all would love to just drink soda. It's delicious and refreshing. However, it's not healthy. And water is way too boring. So what are your
options?

Tea- hot or cold or instant, watch the sugar amounts
Koolaid/Drink Substitutes- check the sugar. I have found a Walmart brand that has individual packets-to-go that advertise several health benefits like immune system. And I don't use the whole packet. I make sure to dilute it.
Lemon Water/Lemonade- My version of lemonade is more like Lemon Water. So that's what I call it. I put just a few drops of lemon and little sugar. Again, I'm diluting the lemonade.
Diet/Sugar Free Soda- And if you must, drink diet, or sugar free, or caffeine free or what is the best COKE ZERO! Coke Zero has no calories, but all of the great coke flavor. Coke is coming out with new flavors for Coke Zero like Cherry Coke Zero. I've tried it and it's awesome.
Iced Coffee- you know how to make it how you like it

If you are pressed for time to wait on certain drinks to get cold: Put it in the blender with some ice! It's NEVER a bad thing to dilute a drink,
except for maybe soda. The more water you can add to a drink, the healthier and more hydrated you will be. But this trick works so great with tea,
drink substitutes, lemonade, and coffee. It will make any drink cold quickly and still taste good.

Healthy drinking! ;)

Please share any other drink ideas you may have!

BBQ Chicken

Oh my goodness! I made BBQ Chicken yesterday and it was so good. I took the frozen chicken tenderloins and cooked them with some olive oil. Then I just added in a whole bunch of the Walmart Honey BBQ sauce. I love this sauce because it's only 50 cals for 2 tbls. That is so great and tastes so good! Usually sauces are in the 100s for just 1 tbls. So, that made me excited to know that I could have a lot of sauce. Then I let the sauce caramelize and get thick and the chicken a little brown. I served it over rice and with broccoli. You should try it! It's quick, super easy, delicious, and really low on calories. The only "bad"* or "real"* calories come from the sauce which isn't even that much.

*I really only count calories by the non-fresh items. I don't count the calories for things like: chicken, fresh hamburger, vegetables, rice, and potatoes. First off, I find it too much work to figure up the calories of these items, so I just don't. These things are good for you anyways and as long as you basically have more vegetables than starch and get enough protein to fill you up, you are all set in my opinion. The calories I do watch out for are: pasta, individually packaged meats like turkey burgers and boca burgers and hamburger patties, sauces, cans (sometimes), bread, and even some cheeses.

As you can tell...

I did not stick with the Anti-Flame diet. I found it difficult and it didn't make a difference with my back. So, what's the point? I'll just stick with what I've got going on already.

What I'm doing now:
I'm not going back to my original Healthy Choice diet. I am actually cooking and trying to think of the easiest and quickest recipes. Also, I have some of those cheap Banquet meals just in case I'm in a hurry and need something quick. I'll post recipes later on.

Hope all is well! Lots going on here. Keep up your healthy lifestyles!
